The Streamers - Main Range National Park The Streamers - Main Range National Park

Around Boonah there a wonderful places to explore nature on tracks and trails in the National Parks of the Scenic Rim – the best places aren’t always easy to find by yourself as there are few marked tracks in this wilderness area. Having a guide to accompany you will ensure that your days in the bush are enjoyable and the focus is on the experience and on learning about the ecology and history of the region.

There are walks of varying length and difficulty. Based on your fitness and recent bushwalking experience we will select a walk that we believe best suits you, your expectations and the conditions on the day.

The best time of the year to walk is usually from April to October with June and July being particularly fine – chilly mornings, beautiful clear days with day-time temperatures of 18 – 25C.

Winter is the ideal time to explore the unique peaks of the Fassifern. Peak climbs vary in difficulty and can take from less than half a day (Mt Edwards) to most of a day (Mt Maroon) to a full and challenging 12 - 14 hours (Mt Barney).

Summer in SE Queensland (December – February) can be very hot (up to 42C) and humid so there are walks to creeks where you can cool off in pristine rock pools and relax in natural isolation during the heat of the day before returning as the afternoon cools.

If you would like to do a walk of longer duration there are a range of options which we are more than happy to discuss with you.
