DAY 1 Saturday 7 November
The weekend begins at 10am with morning tea in Tuckeroo's airy pavilion. Our first session introduces 'nature journaling' ~ what it entails and some of the techniques that will set you on the path to confidently observe and record the details of nature that pique your interest.
You'll receive your art kit and the tools you need to begin making marks and finding your unique nature voice.
After lunch you'll have time to settle in to the Homestead, relax, take a dip in the pool or get straight into your journal journey!
Later in the afternoon we'll gather to begin cooking our fabulous dinner featuring fresh local produce. Living in the Scenic Rim is Caz's inspiration and she brings this joy to her classes. Her inclusive approach to food and cooking helps you "sharpen your culinary skills, learn, eat and have fun!"
After enjoying the feast of our efforts ~ if it's a fine night ~ star gazing is wonderful way to tune into the after-dark locals!
DAY 2 Sunday 8 November
Early morning is glorious so enjoy some birdwatching, yoga, a swim or simply take your coffee to a quiet spot and breath deeply.
After breakfast we meet with Fleur for a day of immersion in nature journaling.
The morning is a more in-depth exploration of techniques, tools and effects that bring life to the pages of your journal. (Don't worry - we'll have practice paper for you too!)
Along the way we'll learn about the special characteristics of many of the local plants as well as their traditional uses and hopefully spot some wildlife!
The afternoon session will most likely see us in a new location with different opportunities for creativity by one of the local creeks.
Back at Tuckeroo there will be free time before dinner to relax and enjoy the surrounds.
DAY 3 Monday 9 November
After a relaxed breakfast we farewell Tuckeroo. Depending on the day and inclination we'll choose a place for an easy walk with Journal in hand. Morning tea somewhere lovely is the plan! Our weekend concludes late morning.
NATURE JOURNALING for life ~ this weekend is for you to take at your own pace. An opportunity to engage your mind and heart in nature. The benefits of nature journaling are many ~ improving wellbeing, health and enjoyment of nature. Fleur is passionate about nature and will inspire you to seek out the stories of place and to make your own.
Learning some art techniques helps you create a record through time of your wanderings. You will be introduced to drawing, using negative space, perspective and design and colour mixing using a variety of art tools.
Fleur will bring examples of her own work as well as share links and places to find inspiration through other artists.
Remember: these guided sessions are not about being a great artist - you will be in an inclusive and supportive group so why not try something new and wonderful! Surprise yourself ...
If you do have art skills, this weekend is for you too! We never seem to have enough time for our creative life so make this yours - develop your practice, learn some new tips - and maybe share some of your own.

ABOUT OUR WALKS Our eco-interpreted bush walks are open to anyone with an urge to get out and experience the magnificent Scenic Rim region – and beyond.
This is a guided group trek and natural history interpretation is an integral part of the guided experience. You are expected to stay with the group. These are NOT fast-paced races to a destination! No drones please.
Our aim is to get out and explore the many facets of our amazing region, note the changes and develop a deeper understanding of the natural richness on our doorstep and, of course, become walking fit with a wonderful group of like-minded bushwalkers.
The nature of the Scenic Rim terrain means that there are few ‘easy’ walks on graded trails. The majority of routes feature uneven ground and ascents and descents, often with rocky sections. The gradients are sometimes very steep. We always allow plenty of time to complete walks so that there is not the necessity to speed through walks or to feel you are not keeping up.
